Dr. Mehmet Aktaş
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Board Member
Mehmet Aktaş, who started his career as an Assistant Auditor in the Presidency of the Court of Accounts in 1983, joined the Ministry of Finance Tax Inspectors Board in 1984, and was appointed Chief Accountant of the Ministry of Finance in 1994. He served as an Advisor to the State Minister Responsible for the Economy. In 1995, he relinquished his state duties and joined Yaşar Group as Presidency Advisor. After holding various senior management positions within the Group, he served as Vice Chairperson of Strategic Planning, Budget and Corporate Finance, between 2000 and 2007. He was appointed as Yaşar Holding's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in July 2007. Mehmet Aktaş serves on the Board of Directors of Yaşar Group companies and of the Tax Inspectors Foundation. He has been the Chairperson of the Foods, Beverages and Agriculture Workspace at TÜSİAD since 2017, and is member of TÜSİAD, ESİAD, KOTEDER, TÜRKTRADE, TİM, The Union of Political Science Graduates and TÜRMOB. In addition, he holds Certified Public Accountant and Independent Auditor licenses. Mehmet Aktaş graduated from the Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences in 1983, completed his master’s degree in the Department of Economics at Vanderbilt University in the USA in 1992, and received a PhD in finance from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at 9 Eylül University in 2003.
